Combining the elements of Mindfulness (conscious awareness), Yin yoga & (the quiet state) of Meditation to be fully aware & invested in what is. Watching every thought arise, whether it be a worry, fear, anxiety, joy or peace, but just merely watching the process. Through the awareness of mind, one gains a deeper knowledge of ones self. In this space without the need to ignore or suppress simply note what is happening & remain calm using breathing as an anchor.
What are the benefits of Yin Yoga?
Students will be working on mindfulness & its use to create a yoga practice that promotes the release of stresses related to tension in the tissues. This class also promotes mobility, flexibility, stabilization of joints and bones sometimes with the use of props.
Perfect for those new to yoga or who hold a current yoga practice but wish to explore the benefits of a Yin / sometimes moments of Yang yoga practice. The practice includes and encompasses long held, static stresses of deep connective tissues allowing them to be remodeled to reduce fatigue and stress in the body. Followed by slow flowing movements increasing blood flow then returning back to static posture. This process supports a release of stress in the body creating changes structurally by continually working with deep tissues. My hope is that this practice will support a healthy body and its return back to optimum health.
