Modified Classical Salutations

 

A series of postures performed in sequence synchronized with breath, Sun Salutations are often used as  warmups at the beginning of a yoga practice, most traditionally Ashtanga Vinyasa . There are many wonderful benefits gained from practicing Sun salutations.

  1. Tadasana ( Standing Ready Pose)
  2. Urdhva Namaskarasana ( Upward Prayer Pose)
  3.  Uttanasana (Forward Fold)
  4. Ardha Hasta Uttanasana (Half Forward Fold)
  5. Low Lunge transition to Ashwa Sanchalanasana (Equestrian Pose) L side
  6. Balasana ( Childs pose)
  7. Move to Cobra or Chaturanga Dandasana (The Stick/ Staff Pose) 
  8. Bhujangasana(Cobra Pose)
  9. Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward-Facing Dog Pose)
  10. Low Lunge transition to Ashwa Sanchalanasana (Equestrian Pose) R side
  11. Balasana ( Childs pose)
  12. Ustrasana ( Camel Pose)
  13. Balasana ( Childs pose)
  14. Bhujangasana(Cobra Pose)
  15. Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward-Facing Dog Pose) 
  16. Tadasana (Mountain Pose)
